  I originally started attending La Jolla Lutheran Church ten years ago with my then girlfriend. The beautiful old spanish church architecture attracted us to the church. But it was the Pastor, the choir, and the congregation that made us feel so welcome and invited into the church family that kept us attending each Sunday. Pastor Mark Dahle delivers thoughtful and inspired sermons that always has a way of applying to me at a very personal level. My wife and I were married at La Jolla Lutheran, then a few years later we moved out of state for several years. When we returned to the area, we searched for another San Diego church closer to where we lived, but couldn't find anything comparable to La Jolla Lutheran. So we rejoined La Jolla Lutheran and make the 30 minute drive there every Sunday, from North County San Diego. The choir is great and complemented some Sundays by a guitarist or a flutist, or a violinist. Last year our son was born and baptized at La Jolla Lutheran. The church has a convenient nursery and Sunday school which makes it great for us now that we have the little one. I know this will be a wonderful church for my son to grow up in. If you are looking for a church to be a part of, I strongly urge you to give La Jolla Lutheran a visit. I'm sure you'll feel right at home. There's also plenty of parking in the adjacent parking lot. Service starts Sunday at 9:30am and followed by a coffee hour with pastries which is a great time to socialize and meet new friends.

  I looked all over San Diego for a Lutheran Church and none compared to La Jolla Lutheran. Everything about this church is wonderful, from the architecture, to the pastor, to the choir, the nursery, and the sunday school. Everyone is so warm, friendly and welcoming to newcomers, it's great! The coffee hour after worship with complimentary breakfast treats are also a nice bonus. If you're looking for a great environment to worship and a place to make friends, La Jolla Lutheran is the place.

  You will not remember me....But several years ago your church put me up and fed me during the darkest time of my life...My wife had left me and i was homeless. Your church family greeted me with kindness and compassion. I will never for get what you did for me. I am since remarried and have three beautiful children. I graduated from college with a nursing degree and I am now pursuing a Masters Degree. Who knows how things could have turned out without the kindness you showed me.

  I live an hour away, but try to get to La Jolla Lutheran Church as often as I can. A friendly and caring family that follows Jesus and shares His love - they are very special.
